Lunga Island Camp
Lunga Island Camp is a secluded self-catering camp situated upstream from Hippo Lodge and is ideal for families, groups or individuals.
This is a cool, tranquil spot ideal for fishing, bird watching or simply lounging around watching the sun set on the Kafue River.
It comfortably accommodates 12 people in 6 large fully furnished safari tents (two have double beds and four have two single beds), each en-suite with their own flush toilet and hot shower.
All linen and towels are provided. Lighting in the chalets is provided by solar power.
Lunga Island Camp has its own domestic staff, fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker, crockery & cutlery, fridge, freezer and laundry facilities.
There is always a staff member on hand to assist you in the self-catering kitchen, and to help you keep the camp clean plus servicing your tent on a daily basis.
Central to the Island camp is the attractive natural wood & thatched deck complete with a 12-seater dining table and chairs and offering sweeping views of the Kafue river. The confluence of the Lunga River is just a kilometre upstream, where the sought-after Pel’s Fishing Owl may be spotted.
All you need supply is your food and drinks; everything else is provided including deck chairs.
