Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma
Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma is located in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park 10 Kilometers upstream from the Victoria Falls. It is named after Dr David Livingstone's faithful friends Sussi and Chuma. They carried his body from Chitambo village in Western Zambia, where he died, to Tanzania from where his body was shipped back to England.
The lodge is built on a dramatic bend of the Zambezi River, amidst a fine stand of Jackal Berry trees and Phoenix Palms. The river laps the edge of the lodge lawns and sundowners are usually enjoyed with almost perfect river sunsets, with the silhouettes of the trees backlit by the setting sun.
Accommodation is in twelve Sussi tree-houses, which are connected by wooden pathways. There are also two private Chuma houses, each with two bedrooms, as well as a private pool and chef.
