Gwembe Castle - A dream come true
Last week I had to go down to Livingstone to see all the lodges, which is something that I love doing.
This time around I stayed at Gwembe Castle which is situated in the vacinity of the Croc Farm. Sue and Ian Brookes welcomed my son and I with open arms, and their hospitality was great.
The castle is a newly refurbished four storied turret. This beautifully appointed apartment is a great place to stay if you want to be more private than staying in a large hotel. It is a self catering unit which gives guests the option of either cooking for themselves, or of going into town and trying one of the restaurants there.
This delightful apartment is completely self sufficient. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything that one would ever need for cooking. The lounge is extremely comfortable, with a sleeper couch, so if you have an extra person with you, they can sleep there. The large flat screen TV and Full DSTV means that you can watch your favourite soapies at night too.
The bedroom is beatifully furnished and has aircon and a bathroom en-suite.
Then the best for last - the top of the turret. This open space has been renovated with romance at heart. There is a large bath tub for taking a romantic bubble bath as the sun goes down with a glass of wine in your hand - what bliss!
After a day of activities in Livingstone, you can come home and relax in the pretty garden and have a swim to cool off.
All in all, this castle is a fabulous place to go if you want to have a private yet opulent stay in Livingstone. I loved it! It is very romantic and reminds me of an Italian Chateaux.
I love visiting with the lodge owners and managers, and this trip was no different. Everyone is always so welcoming and hospitable.
